Massage Cupping – Is based on the common practice of Chinese Cupping Therapy, and the incredible results that this simple treatment produces have truly impressed those who experience its subtle power. By creating suction and negative pressure Massage Cupping therapy is used to soften tight muscles and tone attachments, loosen adhesions and lift connective tissue, bring hydration and blood flow to body tissues, and drain excess fluids and toxins by opening lymphatic pathways.

This therapy utilizes glass or plastic cups to create suction on the body surface. These cups are moved over the skin using gliding, shaking, popping and rotating techniques while gently pulling up on the cup, or are parked for a short time to facilitate joint mobilization or soft tissue release. This suction reaches deep into the soft tissue, and attachment sites. Cupping also has a sedating effect on the nervous system. Another important benefit is that it pulls inflammation and toxins from the body tissues so that the skin and lymphatic system can readily eliminate them. Scar tissue often releases quickly, despite the age of the injury or keloid tendencies.

Cupping helps to reduce and assist in:

  • Pain relief
  • Joint mobilization
  • Lymph drainage
  • Detoxification – movement of stagnation
  • Releasing tight, contracted muscle tissue
  • Scar reduction
  • Cellulite reduction
  • Skin toning and firming
  • Contouring the face and body
  • Pre-and post-operative therapy to shorten recovery time and enhance surgical results

Massage Cupping- Is used to stimulate arterial and venous blood flow along with the lymphatic circulation. The vacuum from the cups releases rigid soft tissue, as well as scars, adhesions and restrictions. By clearing stagnation. creating drainage, and easing limited movement, these incredibly effective techniques relieve pain and enable the body’s return to homeostasis to promote healthier tissue.

This therapy can cause small, circle-shaped marks and/or redness where the cups have been applied. Most patients find that these marks are painless and will disappear after a few days. Drinking plenty of water is necessary to assist in toxin elimination.

Contraindications: Cupping is considered relatively safe. Patients with inflamed skin, open wounds, or high fevers.  Pregnant women should not have the treatment on their stomach or lower back.
